6th World Junior Wushu Championships

The World Junior Wushu Championships (WJWC) is the official world championship for junior athletes and is held by the International Wushu Federation (IWUF). The Championships takes place biennially and features its highest competitive level within the junior (under 18 full years of age) divisions of the sport. This year, the Bulgarian Wushu Federation will organize the 6th edition (6th WJWC) under the auspices of the IWUF. The competition features both Taolu (3 age divisions) and Sanda events for both male and female competitors.

Locations of the WJWC to date:

1. 2006 – August 19–26 – Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
2. 2008 – December 7–14 – Bali, Indonesia
3. 2010 – December 2–10 – Singapore, Singapore
4. 2012 – September 17–25 – Macau, China
5. 2014 – March 11–18 – Antalya, Turkey
6. 2016 – Sept 26th – Oct 2nd 2016 – Burgas, Bulgaria

COMPETITION EVENTS
1. Taolu Events:
Group A: 3rd Set of International Competition Routine: Changquan, Daoshu, Jianshu, Qiangshu, Gunshu, Taijiquan, Taijijian, Nanquan, Nandao, Nangun; Duilian
Group B: Changquan, Daoshu, Jianshu, Qiangshu, Gunshu (1st Set of International Competition Taolu), Nanquan, Nandao, Nangun (International Compulsory Routine) 42 Forms Taijiquan, 42 Forms Taijijian
Group C: Changquan (No.3 Elementary Routine), Daoshu, Jianshu, Qiangshu, Gunshu (Elementary Routine)
2. Sanda Events:
Male: 48kg, 52kg, 56kg, 60kg, 65kg, 70kg, 75kg and 80kg
Female: 48kg, 52kg, 56kg and 60kg
