5th world Wushu championship has been started in Antalya yesterday, and Iranian athletes have great start by winning 5 medals.

 In this edition 48 countries have participated, and all athletes compete in Taolu and Sanda.

Iranian junior team has glory start by winning one gold, 3 silver and one bronze medals.

Nahid Pourshabanan, Iranian Taolu athlete in girls Nan Dao with point 9.22 and won first gold medal for Iran caravan. Athlete from Vietnam and South Korea became second and third in this event.

In girls Tai Chi Hamideh Barkhor could win silver medal, and another Iranian girl Nafiseh Pour Gamji in Dao Sho won bronze medal.

In boys Taolu events, Taha Badiei won a silver medal in Cheng Choan.

The championships will continue till Monday in Antalya, Turkey.

THE 5th WORLD JUNIOR WUSHU CHAMPIONSHIP

1.DATE AND PLACE
The 5th World Junior Wushu Championship will be held from March 11 to 18, 2014 in Antalya Turkey.
2.VENUE
a. Competition venue: KEPEZ BELEDİYESİ KAPALI SPOR SALONU

3.COMPETITION EVENTS
Taolu:
Group A: 3rd Set of International Competition Routine: Changquan, Daoshu, Jianshu, Qiangshu, Gunshu, Taijiquan, Taijijian, Nanquan, Nandao, Nangun; Duilian
Group B: Changquan, Daoshu, Jianshu, Qiangshu, Gunshu (1st Set of International Competition Taolu), Nanquan, Nandao, Nangun (International Compulsory Routine) 42 Forms Taijiquan, 42 Forms Taijijian
Group C: Changquan (No.3 Elementary Routine), Daoshu, Jianshu, Qiangshu, Gunshu (Elementary Routine)
Sanda: Male: 48kg, 52kg, 56kg, 60kg, 65kg, 70kg, 75kg and 80kg
Female: 48kg, 52kg, 56kg and 60kg
4.PARTICIPANTS
a. Member associations of the International Wushu Federation are eligible to participate in the Championships.
b. Those member associations which have not paid the IWUF membership fees of the years 2013 – 2014 are not allowed to participate in the competition.
c. Those associations which are applying for the IWUF membership are permitted to participate after their application has been accepted by the IWUF.
5.PARTICIPATION METHODS
a. Taolu:
i. All the IWUF member associations may send teams to participate in the Championships.
ii. Each taolu team shall be composed of a maximum of sixteen (16) members including: one (1) team leader, two (2) coaches and one (1) doctor and the following competitors:
Group A: 4 competitors (2 boys and 2 girls, who were born between January 1, 1996 – December 31, 1998)
Group B: 4 competitors (2 boys and 2 girls, who were born between January 1, 1999 – December 31, 2001)
Group C: 4 competitors (2 boys and 2 girls, who were born between January 1, 2002 – December 31, 2007)
1) Each Taolu competitor of Group A may enter at most 4 competition events (1 bare-handed routine, 1 short weapon routine, 1 long weapon routine and 1 dual event).
2) Each Taolu competitor of Group B may at most enter 3 competition events (1 bare-handed routine, 1 shortweapon routine, and 1 long weapon routine).
3) Each Taolu competitor of Group C may at most enter 2 competition events (1 bare-handed routine, 1 weapon routine: either 1 short weapon or 1 long weapon).
iii. Competitors are required to hand in: Health Certificate (including electro-cardiogram, pulse and blood pressure) and valid Life Insurance Certificate. The Health Certificate is only valid if it has been issued within a period of 60 days prior to the competition.
b. Sanda:
i. All the IWUF member associations may send teams to participate in the Championships.
ii. Each sanda team shall be composed of a maximum eleven (12) members including: one (1) team leader, two (2) coaches and one (1) doctor and eight (8) competitors (5 boys and 3 girls, who were born between January 1, 1996–December 31, 1998).
iii. Each team may enter only one (1) competitor for one (1) category and each sanda competitor may enter only one (1) category.
iv. Competitors are required to hand in: ① Health Certificate (including electro-encephalogram, electrocardiogram, pulse and blood pressure). The Health Certificate is only valid if it has been issued within a period of 30 days prior to the competition.② Valid Life Insurance Certificate.
6.COMPETITION METHOD
a. Taolu
i. The Competition shall be individual competition.
ii. The competition will be conducted in accordance with the newest edition of the “Rules for International Taolu Competition” endorsed by the IWUF. The right of interpretation of the Rules rests solely with the IWUF. In a case of disagreement with the interpretation of the Rules, the Chinese Text shall prevail.
iii. Time limit: 42 Forms Taijiquan: 5-6 minutes; 42 Forms Taijijian, 3rd Set of Competition Taijiquan and Taijijian Routines: 3-4 minutes. There is no time requirement for other events.
b. Sanda
i. The Competition shall be individual competition
ii. The knockout system will be adopted. If the number of competitors is 4 (exclusive of 4) or less, the single round-robin will be adopted.
iii. The competition will be conducted in accordance with the “Rules for International Sanda Competition” endorsed by the IWUF. Kicks to the head as well as successive/continuous punches to the head are not permitted. The competition time of each round shall be 1 minute 30 seconds.
iv. The power of interpretation of the Rules rests solely with the IWUF In a case of disagreement with the interpretation of the Rules, the Chinese Text shall prevail.
7.COSTUMES AND EQUIPMENT
a. Taolu
i. Competitors shall wear required taolu competition costumes during all the events.
ii. All equipment and facilities at the competition and training sites must be in conformity with the Competition Rules.
iii. Competitors shall bring their own competition apparatus for their respective events.
b. Sanda
i. Competitors shall wear costumes and protective gear in compliance with the “Rules for International Sanda Competition” to participate in the competition.
ii. Each competitor must possess two (2) sets of costumes: one set of black and one set of red costumes.
iii. Gloves, instep protector and protective gear will be provided by the Organizing Committee except for gum-shield and jockstrap which must be provided by the competitors themselves.
8.PLACING AND AWARDS
a. Taolu
The top eight places of each event will be awarded as follows:
1st Place: Gold Medal and Certificate
2nd Place: Silver Medal and Certificate
3rd Place: Bronze Medal and Certificate
4th – 8th Places: Certificate
b. Sanda:
The top three places of each category will be awarded as follows:
1st Place: Gold Medal and Certificate
2nd Place: Silver Medal and Certificate
3rd Place (juxtaposition): Bronze Medal and Certificate
9.ENTRIES
a. Preliminary Entries: The Preliminary Entry Form with the exact number of participants must reach the IWUF Secretariat and Turkish Wushu Federation by mail or fax no later than 24:00 hrs. January 11, 2014. The Addresses are as follows:

b. Final Entries: The Final Entry Form with events and names of the competitors must reach the IWUF Secretariat and Turkish Wushu Federation by mail or fax no later than 24:00 hrs. February 11, 2014 to the above address.
c. The Final Entry Forms must be certified in triplicate, one copy to the IWUF Secretariat in Beijing, China, one copy to Turkish Wushu Federation and one copy to be brought with the team as confirmation during its registration in Turkey.
d. No changes or additional entries will be accepted after the deadline. Under special circumstances, member association may apply to the IWUF Technical Committee in writing for alternatives but there will be penalty charge of US$100 per event or per competitor. No changes will be accepted after 24:00 (Turkish standard time), March 12, 2014.
e. All entries must be properly typed or printed in Chinese or English. They are valid only when signed by the President or Secretary General of the respective association bearing the official stamp of the association.
10.REGISTER AND FINANCIAL CONDITIONS
a. The participating teams are required to register on March 11 and 12, 2014. The Organizing Committee will arrange the board and lodging and local transportation from March 11 to 17, 2014.
b. The Organizing Committee will arrange the board and lodging for participating teams at designated five-star hotels.
Each team member is charged: Double room – US$ 80/day/person
Single room – US$ 100/day/person
Each team judge and observer will be charged the same as above.
c. The preliminary application for hospitality must state the exact number of rooms, and shall be sent to Turkish Wushu Federation by mail or fax before 24:00 January 11, 2014.
d. To ensure the accommodation, all participating teams are required to transfer 50% of the accommodation fee to the Bank Name: GARANTİ BANKASI/ ANAFARTALAR ŞUBESİ, ACC No: 711/9091299, IBAN No: TR38 0006 2000 7110 0009 0912 99, BEARER NAME: Turkish Wushu Federation, SWIFT CODE: TGBATRIS by no later than 24:00hrs February 11, 2014. Please be reminded that if the Organizing Committee does not receive the deposit fee, the accommodation will not be guaranteed. The team will be solely accountable for the consequences caused by this.
e. The IWUF and Organizing Committee request that all participating teams should lodge at the designated hotels. Those who do not stay at the designated hotels will have to pay a participating fee of US$100 per athlete and US$80 per team manager, coach and doctor. If some participants can’t take part in competition and activities on time, they should accept the consequences for their actions.
11.COMPETITION MANAGEMENT AND TECHNICAL OFFICIALS
a. The Organizing Committee of the 5th World Junior Wushu Championship shall be responsible for the organization of the competitions during the Championship under the guidance of the IWUF Executive Committee and Technical Committee.
b. Each participating team can send 1 taolu and 1 sanda certified IWUF international judge to the event. They should present their valid IWUF certificates at registration.
c. The Jury members and technical officials will be invited after consultation between the Organizing Committee and the IWUF.
12.TECHNICAL MEETING
The meeting of team managers and coaches will be held at 9:00am on March 13, 2014. Each team may send representatives (2 for taolu and 2 for sanda) to attend the meeting, at which matters concerning the competitions will be announced.
13.DRAWING-LOTS CEREMONY
The drawing-lots ceremony will be conducted by the IWUF Technical Committee at 10:00am on March 13, 2014. Each team may send representatives (two for taolu and two for sanda) to attend the ceremony. The IWUF Technical Committee will draw lots on behalf of the teams that are unable to send representatives.
14.WEIGHING IN
The weighing in for sanda competitors will be arranged at 7:00am on March 13, 2014.
15.DOPING TEST
Banned drugs are strictly prohibited. During the Championships, doping tests will be conducted on selected athletes and all associations shall cooperate with the officers. In a case of any doping violation, the athlete’s results will be nullified.
16.OTHER MATTERS
a. Each team shall strictly abide by the rules and regulations of the competition and compete fairly.
b. Those who violate the rules and regulations will be dealt with according to the regulations of the IWUF.
c. Each team is required to bring the following:
i. Three (3) national flags or regional flags or federation flags (1m x 2m
ii. The national anthem or federation song on CD
iii. Three (3) color photos (passport size) per team member
iv. Health Certificate and Life Insurance Certificate for both Taolu and Sanda athletes
v. The copy of the Final Entry Form
